On April 29th, the JRAAS team collaborated with Planetário do Porto- Centro Ciência Viva to screen Stanley Kubrick's beloved science-fiction classic 2001: A Space Odyssey (1968), in the third and last instalment of our cinema cycle “Time Capsule: Futures Gone By” (in partnership with Associação Luso-Britânica do Porto).

For this last session, we were pleased to hear CETAPS researcher Professor Teresa Pereira from NOVA FCSH in Lisbon, and you can check out her text here.

We thank Planetário do Porto for this collaboration, as we are very happy to have been able to screen such a notable film about outer-space in such a fitting location. Furthermore, we are grateful to all who attended the session.

Despite this cinema cycle having come to an end, there is more to come! This June, we will host a cinema cycle dedicated to Irish identity, culture, and language, Stay tuned for further news!
