I am pleased to invite you to the workshop “Web Scraping with R,” to be held on 12 November, from 14h30 to 16h30, at FLUP, in Meeting Room II.

In this workshop, you will learn the basics of web scraping with R and the rvest package: how to collect publicly available information from the internet and turn it into structured data you can analyse and visualise. Along the way, we will reflect on what type of information can be extracted, how to do so responsibly, and how to make the methods transparent and reproducible.
To take part, all you need is a laptop with the following installed in advance:
- R and RStudio: https://posit.co/downloads
- Google Chrome: https://www.google.com/chrome/
- The rvest and dplyr libraries, installed and loaded before the session
Seats are limited. If you are interested, please register in advance by emailing digitallab@letras.up.pt.
I look forward to seeing you there!
