JRAAS at TechLING

By joelfaustino, 25 September, 2024

TechLING is an international congress founded in 2016, dedicated to the relations between linguistics, arts, data and computational technology within the field of Digital Humanities. This year it will be held in Rio de Janeiro at UFRJ, the first time it is held outside of Europe.
This past month, the JRAAS team has worked on a paper relating to our experience in the “Valongo: Utopian City” project. It constitutes a case study on the integration of utopian studies, the English language and digital technologies in education based on the workshop the team developed, called “Create Your Own Utopia”.

And, at last, good news! The JRAAS submission was accepted, and we will be taking part in the talks on 2nd and 3rd October 2024. Since it is a hybrid congress, we will be presenting our work by videoconference. Our colleague Raquel Souza will be the one presenting the paper, but the whole team will be there to respond to any questions that may come up.

We hope to see you there!
